Cheaper Flights to Las Vegas

Peak season:
Practically all year is the peak season for Las Vegas. The summer months might be the best time to find the cheapest flights to Las Vegas, but the weather can reach extreme temperatures due to the desert location. All hotels and casinos do have air conditioning though so you'll feel comfortable until you go outside. Autumn and winter are generally good times of the year to get your flights to Las Vegas as the weather conditions are cooler. When finding your flights to Las Vegas, try to see if there are any big business conferences going on as this can affect the price of the flights. New Year's is hugely celebrated, as is July 4th and the Labour Day Weekend (which is the first Monday of September), so don't expect to find cheap flights to Las Vegas then. Spring Break also increases the costs of the flight tickets so make sure to plan carefully.

City overview
Once a small, unremarkable fishing village, today the resort of Cancun is the reason most people visit Mexico. It is made up of two parts: the glitzy hotel zone dedicated to tourism, and the central area inhabited by the permanent residents. A different atmosphere prevails in each, with a dramatic contrast between the air-conditioned shopping malls, chic restaurant dining, and wealthy pleasure-seeking tourists in one; and bustling market street stalls, noisy vendors, and the daily grind of people at work in the other. The hotel zone, situated on a thin strip of land (Isla Cancun) in the shape of a figure "7", is what people imagine when they talk about Cancun. It is a vision of Caribbean paradise with soft white sand beaches and clear blue-green waters. There is plenty of high quality accommodation available, a wide choice of restaurants and shops, a notoriously energetic nightlife, and an array of activities, including both land and water sports. The city is also a good base from which to explore some of the nearby attractions, particularly the ancient Mayan site of Chichen Itza on the mainland, which is the best restored and most famous of the archaeological sites on the Yucatán Peninsula. Situated between Merida and Cancun on the Yucatan Peninsula, Chichen Itza is an archaeological wonder. The Mayan people’s most prosperous period, from the 10th- to 15th- centuries, is preserved through pyramids and thrones set in a dense forest just a couple of hours from Cancun by bus. Kukulkan Temple, the site’s main draw, is dedicated to the serpent god and measures 98ft (30 m) in height. The religious monument has 365 stairs in total, which tourists climb for a better view of the surrounding attractions.

How to get from the airport to the Las Vegas strip?
When you arrive at McCarran International Airport, you'll think the strip is so close you could walk there. This isn't recommended and you'll soon learn everything in Vegas seems quite close. The easiest and quickest option is to get a taxi straight from the airport; it shouldn't take longer than 30 minutes, maybe less depending on where your hotel is and what the traffic is like. Make a point of telling your driver to exit the airport via Swenson, as otherwise you'll end up taking the highway which actually takes longer. You can also arrange for a limo to collect you if you want to ride in style, or at the other end of the spectrum you can take the shuttle bus. This might be the cheapest option but it makes many stops, so if you'd rather just get to your hotel and relax, take a taxi. You can also take a bus straight to the strip or rent a car, however unless you are planning to explore the outer areas of Las Vegas, a car could be more of a hindrance to your trip.
